Cut-throat attitude
and an effervescent smile
a winning combination, so they say
so silver-tongued and debonair -- the
center of the world
the power to write the rules
of the games you play
‘cause sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
you lose
sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
you lose
self-satisfaction’s yours
enjoy it while you can
ignore the tear-stained karma if you dare
it don’t matter to you now, I know,
my silly myopic friend
but one day you may wake up
and fi nd you care
‘cause sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
you lose
Winning isn’t everything;
it’s how you play the game
but that platitude’s a picture
that don’t fi t easily in your frame
and sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
you lose
be careful what you wish for
it just might come your way
pay-back’s a bitch
that’s worth its weight in rain
a year’s supply of toothpicks
a country parking space
not every prize is a treasure
worth the pain
a Pyrrhic gain
not worth the pain
Hip Hip Hooray, congratz,
looks like you win again
or at least I’ve run out
of anything else to say
so once again my friend
looks like you get the fi nal word
or maybe I’ve just grown tired
of how you play
‘cause sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
you lose
sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
sometimes when you win
you lose

Absolutely hooked on this album from first listen. How rare is that with prog!??? Excellent songwriting and musicianship. Can’t wait to dive into the rest of the collection. Thomas Lock

In the wake of buying the Welcome To The Planet I also went for this older "EP" (clocking in on 70 minutes a rather big big EP...) as a final farewell to a very bright bright star that sadly doesn't shine anymore. Carsten Pieper
