There's no mythology in pain another mother's son is body count and nothing stops the rain hurts too much to keep the score Ain't got no tears left for cryin' any more I believe there's a wisdom that exists beyond the blue I believe there's a great mind that loves and cares for you but the waters rise to flood the shore ain't no tears left for cryin' any more Fly away slowly rise from the earth leave your tears to the dreary day Fly away soar the universe traverse the Milky Way You see it on the TV screen man's inhumanity abysmally obscene put the lock upon the door won't be no tears left for cryin' any more Fly away slowly rise from the earth leave your tears to the dreary day Fly away soar the universe traverse the Milky Way Ashes to ashes, dust to dust the world is faithless until you find the trust the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak lay me down my soul to keep my soul to keep Fly away slowly rise from the earth leave your tears to the dreary day Fly away soar the universe traverse the Milky Way

He has the best of manners polite bark and no bite he wags his tail when spoken to he never picks a fight he waits to have his feet wiped when he comes in from the rain he loves to have his belly scratched he never raises Cain He's a civilized dog never howls at the moon he leaves that to me and I'll be howling soon a civilized dog he never rolls in the mud that's what I want to do I want to run for the blood When nature is a beast in hand-me-down threads you can cover up the wolf but what big teeth he has! And when he sleeps he dreams you know he's dreaming most the day that he's running with the pack that he's chasing down some prey He's a civilized dog never howls at the moon he leaves that to me and I'll be howling soon a civilized dog he never rolls in the mud that's what I want to do I want to run for the blood That dog's a lot like us happy but a bit repressed we sit when we are told and we want to be possessed so we're doing tricks for treats until the new wears off then we both can be civilized dogs We're civilized dogs howling at the moon if you're not howling now you'll be howling soon we're civilized dogs but we can roll in the mud that's what we want to do we want to run for the blood

I'm done living in the badlands playing out my last hand listening to whispering walls even when you're not there you're beating me at solitaire and I feel I am done living in the wastelands shaking off my last chance riding barrels towards the falls even though you're still there dancing on the heavy air I feel That one dark angel trapped in shadows one dark angel tied up in tangles one dark angel is you I am done living in a dreamland walking through the quicksand sinking with the stars see, even when you're nowhere I take you with me everywhere and I feel That one dark angel trapped in shadows one dark angel tied up in tangles one dark angel is you Before I kissed one dark angel one dark angel goodbye I never knew how strange felt never knew how change held her hands over my eyes before you ever thought of me I knew you were my love and I presumed you'd fall to me from somewhere up above I never knew that one dark angel trapped in shadows one dark angel tied up in tangles lingers and dangles one dark angel is you one dark angel was you

What's your story, Mourning Glory is your sunshine filtered by the clouds? out of season, for a reason out of luck, and so far out of bounds life is precious, with a nexus life is worthless when it's sealed away life is lovely. So don't shove me. Lost your freedom an' now it can't be found you're stuck to the ground you carry your cross alone wearing your crown of thorns blinded by what's been shown so like Billie Joe, standing tall, strong of arm you walk alone You are golden -- not beholden Yet you melt down, spilling over the ground If you don't stop I'll get the wet mop wring you out and splash you all around and water you down every time it's raining in your head every time you can't get out of bed every time sinners throwin' stones you walk alone and you carry your cross alone wearing your crown of thorns petrified to the bone while they take their licks with a crucifix You know they're crossin' their hearts of stone so like Billie Joe, standing tall, strong of arm you walk alone and every time (inst. solo) every time (inst. solo) every time hearts made out of stone you walk alone

Bloodstone 05:17
When I touch you, you smile add my warmth to your warmth but you know that I can't make the world stand still there's a barrier there that only you can break through stream of harmony that only you can fill When my eyes trying to preach hurt you under your skin I could bottle your tears with your smiles When I see your hands reach for the love you're within like an ointment so soothing to you, child You're my bloodstone but you have blood of your own that was running before you were born As your blood flows my heart wants yours to know how the hot and the cold run warm I'm yours, flesh and bone show the love that I've shown is what I am your rock for Bloodstone, yeah Please don't lose what you've felt when you grow up and live brush the dust from the surface of my grave when you bury yourself in the love that I give is it your life or my life that you save? Son, your vision is charmed you sparkle pure gold you dream what you can't wait to see You're a pulsing white star you're boundless and bold and you see things the way they ought to be You're my bloodstone but you have blood of your own that was running before you were born As your blood flows my heart wants yours to know how the hot and the cold run warm You're my bloodstone know you're never alone from your marrow, your fullness and form As your blood flows grow to what's to be grown life's bountiful blessings to flow flesh and bone show the love that I've shown is what I am your rock for Bloodstone, yeah

The perfect stain upon my heart is transparent like a stained-glass window in the sun a double rainbow in the rain colors the pain kaleidoscope of hues windstorm of colors we focus on the blues Our religions are broken they're just ritualistic tokens on the periphery of what's important it's kind of insane they embrace trivial dogma then fight over it who gives a damn they've lost the heart Nothing's sacred, nothing's pure nothing's holy any more people needing help are shown the door Nothing ventured, nothing gained nothing here to kill the pain the colored glass can't take away the stain Hallelujah being blind don't make the world go away Hallelujah time to fix the broken hallelujah Hallelujah faith is more than having nowhere else to go Hallelujah let's try to fix the broken hallelujah Nothing's sacred, nothing's pure nothing's holy any more people needing help are shown the door Science tells us to pay no heed we do as we are told a royal flush and still we fold It's the spaces the thin lines from place to places connectivity kings and aces you boil in oil every day you toil not knowing what grace is take a good look at your daughter's face I'm sure you'll get a glimpse Hallelujah being blind don't make the world go away Hallelujah let's try to fix it let's try to fix the broken hallelujah Hallelujah being blind don't make the world go away Hallelujah time to fix the broken hallelujah

And you already know what you should do love your neighbor as yourself, the golden rule: do unto others as you would have them do and love the Lord with heart and mind Understanding -- it's not something you believe not something can be spoon-fed down a throat feed your mind as you nourish hungry hearts giving them the start everyone should have And don't let no Hitler tell you what to do And don't let no Stalin tell you what to do No left, no right, can know the center of you be true to what's inside Toss your Bible if it keeps you from the truth the Qur'an and Torah too if you read them wrong your survival depends on thinking for yourself your own religion is your health inside your heart And don't let no preacher tell you what to do No imam or rabbi what to think or do unless they tell you what you already know is true the one true religion you already know I love Jesus He said blessed are the meek turn the other cheek and walk away And wherever you go I will always be with you forever as true as blue is to the sky And no one should have to tell you what to do love your neighbor as yourself, the golden rule: do unto others as you would have them do and love the Lord with heart and mind and love the Lord with heart and mind and love the Lord with heart and mind It's as simple as that in my mind's eye
9.
There's a place I can go when my heart loses touch and I barely can tell that it's beating I can think of the life that you put into my love when I'm tired there's a place I can go There's a place I can go when I've seen way too much when I'm empty with confidence fleeting I can close my weary eyes and turn on my indigo head when I'm down there's a place I can go Inside my mind, into your arms Into your arms, your arms inside my mind Inside my mind, into your arms in my embrace you're here inside my mind When I'm there I can feel all the love in your heart When I'm there I can feel your sensation We can dance on the sand make love under the moon to be with you a place I can go Inside my mind, into your arms Into your arms, your arms inside my mind Inside my mind, into your arms in my embrace you're here inside my mind There's a place that I go now that you're so far away to regain what I've lost, to remember I sit back all alone and imagine you're there when I'm lonely a place I can go Inside my mind, into your arms Into your arms, your arms inside my mind Inside my mind, into your arms in my embrace you're here inside my mind

Bittersweet the rain falls, spiraling by so far below I hold on tight and pretend to feel the coaster dip and roll I remember the games we played I remember like yesterday climbing anticipation for the ride It's colder than it should be and my fingers won't line up the rock is slick and slanted and I think I might fall off It's all inside of your head she says to me where will it be when I'm dead I say to her I climb a quiet mountain to the stars Limbo and Flux never know quite how much mother on the pearl or love in the world caught in between worlds of wonder and of sheen worlds of blinders and bucks in my Limbo and Flux I tackle disrespect by being blissfully detached I give away my music but I want to take it back It isn't there to be spit upon I only wanted to sing my song A muffled bell might as well be lost When every day is a feature for the comic strip I can speak in bubbles, only words that fit I walk on pins and needles my head up in the clouds I hold my tongue just thinking the words don't leave my mouth Turning through the twilight to the corner of my mind I wonder how I got to where the colors seem so bright everything around me is within everything around me I can touch in the thick of it looking towards the Limbo and Flux Limbo and Flux never know quite how much mother on the pearl or love in the world caught in between worlds of wonder and of sheen worlds of blinders and bucks in my Limbo and Flux

There was no perfect me; I need forgiveness too. I know that shouldn't be a reason to hurt you. You look me in the eyes, but I'm a guarded soul afraid the truth will rise and leave an empty hole. When my strength has give in and I surrender to your doubts, you'll have to lose oblivion; I'd rather die than shut you out. And I hold your key to rainbow asylum, you're never far from mind. One white lie's a sparkling diamond oh, how I stroked you blind. Although your heart gives truly blue, I'm just a thief who hates to steal. I'd rather leave than color you with all the sadness that I feel. I've felt another's touch, let her under my skin. I'd give away too much if I let you come in. Since the truth you're living in is kinder to you than my all, I'll let you keep oblivion I'd rather die than see you fall. And I hold your key to rainbow asylum, you're never far from mind. One white lie's a sparkling diamond, oh, how I stroked you blind. Although your heart gives truly blue, I'm just a thief who hates to steal. I'd rather leave than color you with all the sadness that I feel. Though the truth would be less tiresome if I left it in your hands, but at least in rainbow asylum you think I'm better than I am.
