about
Also originally from Evolution of Jazzraptor; this song was a close call, in terms of adding it to this album. It's of a different genre than the rest of the album. On the other hand, I'm featuring a variety of virtuoso performances on the album, and with Michael Lee Firkins jumping in, it certainly measure up in that respect! Beatboxer Sam Rogers gives the song a bit of a different feel as well. . .
lyrics
I constantly die every day of my life
But at least I'm safe from pain and consequence
I constantly breathe, my heart constantly beats
There's a constant refrain from the blood and the heat
Cause I live much deeper than death
Further from the edge than where I die
Further from the edge than where I hurt
Further from the edge than where I cry
I live, I live further from the edge
Cats Got Nine
I've got a multiverse
Stitch in time
For one small universe
Cats got nine
I'm down to one
While I'm living and not living life
I am me; here, there, everywhere
Nowhere safe from not living life
I am free from suffering pestilence
I suffer from ignorance and I'm cheating life
Cause I'll die much deeper than death
Further from the edge than where I run
Further from the edge than where I laugh
Further from the edge than where I love
I'll die, I'll die further from the edge
Cats Got Nine
I've got a multiverse
Stitch in time
For one small universe
Cats got nine
I'm down to one
While I'm living and not living life

Absolutely hooked on this album from first listen. How rare is that with prog!??? Excellent songwriting and musicianship. Can’t wait to dive into the rest of the collection. Thomas Lock
This is one of the best interpretations I've heard of Genesis music, Pete would have made an excellent replacement vocalist for the band itself, he has a lovely feel for the songs, and a perfect voice for the material Colman Jones
